The Poster Club
2026 — Ongoing
From WooCommerce to Shopify: Ecommerce rebuilt around art, artists and discovery
A growing brand in need of a digital experience that matched the quality of its curated art universe.
The Poster Club is a Copenhagen-based online destination for curated art prints and emerging artists. With the business scaling across international markets, there was an opportunity to rethink both the customer experience and the technical foundation behind the brand.
The ambition was to create a digital experience that felt as refined as a contemporary gallery, one where the artwork remains the focal point while discovery, navigation, and purchasing feels effortless.
Where art, storytelling and commerce complement each other.
The project started with a discovery phase, multiple workshops and strategic alignment to understand the brand, the customers and how ecommerce fits into the wider TPC universe. From there, we led the full design and development process in close collaboration with The Poster Club team.
The visual direction was guided by restraint. The interface was built to frame the artwork, not compete with it, letting artists, collections and stories take centre stage. Navigation, filtering and purchase flows were rethought to make discovery feel intuitive and the path to purchase straightforward.
Beneath the redesigned frontend, we moved the entire business from WooCommerce to Shopify: Products, customer accounts, years of order history, artist pages, Art Walls, Perfect Match collections, journals and editorial content. International market setup, SEO redirects and platform configuration were all handled as part of the transition
As part of the data migration, we also supported the setup and verification of the PIM integration from Plytix to Shopify: defining data structure, metafields and attributes together with The Poster Club team, and verifying that product data, tags, categories and subcategories landed correctly.
The Poster Club does not just sell individual prints. The business is built around art compositions: Art Walls, Perfect Match pairings, frames, passepartouts. We built the merchandising architecture to reflect that. From product pages to cart and checkout, bundles and cross-sell logic are built in at every step, making it easy for a customer to go from one print to many. This also feeds into how products are displayed and recommended across the site through search and automated product discovery.
Interactive tools supporting purchase decisions
The Art Wall Designer was rebuilt and optimised for desktop. The tool lets customers visualise their own gallery walls, experimenting with artwork compositions until it feels right, then adding everything to cart in one go. What could be a single-print purchase becomes a considered, multi-product decision.
View In Your Room was extended and optimised to cover all applicable product types. Customers can place art into their own home environment directly from the product page, with the selected frame rendered alongside the print for a true sense of scale and fit.
